Cost-effective infection control
The Bactiguard® technology is a multi-faceted solution for preventing microbial and biofilm growth on device surfaces also increasing the biocompatible properties. The coating has passed standard biocompatibility and toxicity tests and has been used by 110 million patients over the years, thus underlining an excellent safety profile.
Multiple mechanisms of action
As opposed to old silver coating technologies, which solely depend on silver release, the Bactiguard® coating offer multiple means of protection:

Easy and flexible application
The coating of noble metals is applied through a robust wet dipping process and does not affect the primary production process of the device. A coated device will be identical to an uncoated in terms of shape, size, mechanical properties and handling characteristics.
