Bactiguard to Zambia

Bactiguard has signed a Letter of Intent, LoI, with University Teaching Hospital, UTH, in Lusaka. UTH is the largest hospital in Zambia with 1600 hospital beds.

Last week the LoI was signed in Lusaka and UTH plan to implement a Bactiguard Infection Protection Program during the fall of 2013.

Zambia like most countries in Africa, face major challenges with health care associated infections, HAI, and has an increasing number of patients with MRSA. The hospital director for UTH, Dr Lackson Kasonka hopes that this cooperation with Bactiguard will improve the patient safety:

“We are very pleased to enter into this partnership with Bactiguard as it enables the UTH to address issues of infection control and antibiotics consumption within the hospital. Bactiguard’s know-how and high quality products will indeed be able to free hospital beds, which is a concern for us.”

Christian Kinch, CEO of Bactiguard is very pleased and hopes that this cooperation will help UTH to prevent HAI and thereby save lives

“ I am extremely happy that we will be able to help Dr Lackson Kasonka to prevent HAI and free more hospital beds in UTH. The Bactiguard solution has already been used by over 125 million patients in the world and now it its time for Zambia”.
